Newsletter 1

SFX Class of 63
50th Anniversary Newsletter 1

Dear Classmates

In the run up to our 50th Anniversary, we plan to publish a few issues of newsletter to facilitate communication of which this is the first one. This issue deals with donation to the School.

As SFX Class of 63 is not a legal entity or a registered society, we have opted to open a joint personal account with HSBC under four of our names and the signatories are Dicky Yip, Charles Wong, Jason Siu and Jerry Chung.  The money can only be withdrawn if any two of the signatories co-sign.

The account details are:
__________________

A/C Name: Yip Dicky, Peter/Chung Wing Sang/Siu Shu Tong/Wong Kit Hung, Charles

A/C#: 510-812654-292

Bank/Branch: HSBC, 1 Queen's Road, Central, Hong Kong.

Donations received so far have been deposited into this account. Please make out any cheques for donation in the names above. You can either send cheques to Jerry or any four of us. You may also pay-in or wire funds into the above account direct by bank remittances over-the- counter or online; but please email me so that we know where the funds are coming from even if you wish to remain anonymous.

We shall report outstanding balance in the account in our regular issues of this newsletter.

Here’s what the four of us suggest:

1.Since it is our 50th anniversary, we thought it is appropriate that our target should be HKD500,000.

2.  The final amount will be donated to the SFX Education Fund which, according to Bro. Joseph Chang, is a fund made up of donations from former students, particularly for scholarships.  The school authority has a free hand to use the fund for such purposes.

3. The donations will be used for setting up FOUR annual scholarships of HKD5,000 each, two will be awarded for merits and two will be for relieve of financial hardship. To avoid top students garnering too many scholarships, awardees based on merits cannot accept any other scholarships for that particular year.

4.  We will name the scholarships as SFX Class of 63 Scholarship.

5.  The amount raised will be earmarked for the above purposes and the School will continue to grant such scholarships until the fund is completely exhausted.

Please let us have your views and comments.

Individually, we have achieved our own 50 years; let us work together to over-achieve the target of HKD500,000 for SFX.
